As Program Director of Queens-Parkside, Joan leads staff in helping patients recognize the underlying causes of drug and alcohol addiction and chart a course to a healthy, sober lifestyle.

Joan has over 20 years of experience in the field of rehabilitation. Prior to joining Phoenix House in 2017, she was the director of the Opioid Treatment Program at Montefiore Medical Center for two years. She managed the operations of an OASAS-licensed opioid treatment program and oversaw over 1,100 patients and 40 staff members. She has also previously worked at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center as well as New York Presbyterian Hospital.

She has her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island. In 2008, she won the Community Advisory Board of the South Bronx’s Outstanding Commitment Award.
