Erik Sherman, MPH, ASW

Director of Client Experience

Mr. Sherman joined Phoenix House in November of 2010 as a Recovery Specialist, and has gained experience in the residential treatment and mental health services in several different roles since then. He became a member of the California Regional team in 2014 and has been working diligently to improve patient care ever since.

Erik holds dual Master’s Degrees in Public Health (MPH) and Social Work (MSW) from UCLA. Prior to joining Phoenix House, he served as a clinical social worker for the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health and the Veteran’s Administration Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.

At Phoenix House, Erik merges two approaches to client care: the public health population-level perspective and the individual-focused clinical-social-work perspective. This dual-perspective approach is a key to making Phoenix House the best provider for the community at large, while offering a powerful individual treatment experience for the patients and families struggling with behavioral and mental health issues.
