Cynthia Marble

Program Director

New England

Cynthia Marble began working with Phoenix House in October 2004 as a counselor at the Tapestry Program in Brattleboro, Vermont.  She has been in her current position as the Tapestry Program Director since October 2007.  Long before coming to Phoenix House, Ms. Marble worked as a secondary school teacher after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in French, Sociology, and Psychology from Alma College in Alma, Michigan.  Later, after moving to Vermont, she worked alongside her husband in their handcrafted jewelry business, which provided the opportunity for travel throughout the United States.  However, the call to enter the field of human services as a counselor prompted the decision to enroll in a graduate program at Antioch New England Graduate School where Ms. Marble earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2004.

One of Ms. Marble’s favorite quotes, which is attributed to Helen Keller, reflects her belief in the resiliency of the human spirit and the hope of growth (and change) in every individual life: “Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.”
