The Latest in Sober Social Media: Pinterest

Monday, March 26th, 2012

It’s always fascinating to keep tabs on the ever-changing social media platforms that folks in the online recovery community are using to share stories, find help, stay in touch, and get inspired. Here at Phoenix House, our presence on TwitterFacebookTumblrFlickrYouTube and other social sites is a constant resource for the vibrant community of men, women, and teens whom we serve.

And now, along with many other leading nonprofits and addiction specialists such as Charity:Water and The Fix, we’ve been pinned! We’re proud to invite you to join us on Pinterest, the latest addition to our growing collection of social media platforms. Pinterest is a virtual/visual bulletin board that allows individuals to “pin” their favorite images and organize them into thematic “boards.” On our Pinterest site you’ll find unique imagery and fresh daily inspiration from our programs, events, clients, alumni, and community.

Pinterest is a particularly exciting venture because of its tremendous and unprecedented growth rate; since the beginning of 2012, the site has already become 145% larger, with 10.4 million users to date. We hope you’ll join us and the rest of that 10.4 million as we share stories, lessen the stigma surrounding addiction treatment, and make our online recovery community even stronger.
