Westchester Academy Students’ Bountiful Harvest

Monday, September 12th, 2011

Check out the nutritious bounty of the vegetable garden cultivated throughout the summer by the students of our Phoenix House Westchester Academy.  In June, our friends from Capital One got a peek at the garden when they visited to assist our students on the project. As one can imagine, many meals at the Academy were fortified with salads and delicious veggie dishes, giving our students an increased awareness of healthy nutritional habits along with the satisfaction of harvesting crops from a robust garden. Gardening is a wonderful hobby – great exercise, therapeutic, and refreshing to the mind, body and spirit. We congratulate our students on their success and are inspired by the results – great job!
