Thursday, July 16th, 2015

Networking BreakfastPhoenix House Mid-Atlantic (PHMA) hosted a breakfast on June 18, 2015 to allow its clinical staff and community partners to educate one another about exciting new and existing programs. Partners from more than 20 community agencies joined PHMA clinicians in an inviting beach-themed conference room at the Phoenix House Counseling Center in Arlington, Virginia, for an enjoyable morning. Guests and staff mingled and updated one another on the services and opportunities available for people working on their recovery journeys. This event served as a great opportunity for addiction professionals to take time out to enjoy breakfast with their partners and discuss ways to better serve the community through a robust continuum of care.

“Wake Up with Phoenix House” opened with a welcome and overview of services by Scarlet Gleeson, the Northern VA/DC Marketing Manager for Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic. “I am always very proud to invite our partners in the community to meet our clinicians,” Gleeson said. “I have the honor and privilege of working with some of the most talented and passionate professionals in this industry.” As a part of introductions and overviews, attendees shared something that was unique about themselves. The group found out there were many athletes in the room including a triathlon competitor and a sport psychologist.  For all involved, the event was a clear success and a great way for staff to rise to the challenge of staying on top of the latest services and best practices and ensuring that clients of Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic continue to receive the highest standard of care.
