Phoenix House Career Academy offers educational opportunities to drug rehab clients

Phoenix House Career Academy clients are fortunate to have special vocational and educational services on-site in partnership with the New York City Department of Education District 79. Courses are offered in these high-demand fields: building maintenance, electrical installation, culinary arts, cosmetology and salon services, as well as GED test preparation classes. These programs offer clients the opportunity to build the skills necessary to become independent, productive citizens. Clients from our other locations are encouraged to take advantage of these programs, and special morning and evening courses are offered to members of the local community.

Education and training are key components to the recovery process; research has proven that clients leaving treatment with training are more likely to succeed and maintain recovery. Many enter our programs without skills or work history and return to society as valuable members of the workforce. Our experienced counselors, teachers, and administrators are proud to help our clients attain their goals, learn new skills, and look towards a brighter future.
