The holiday spirit is alive and well at the Phoenix House Feinberg Academy of Dallas. On Thanksgiving Day, many members of the Phoenix House Associates Group – our “service arm” of volunteers – served an extraordinary Thanksgiving feast to clients and staff at the Academy. The delicious meal was specially prepared by students at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Dallas, under the instruction of Chef Andrew Savoie. Clients, staff and volunteers enjoyed traditional Thanksgiving cuisine: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, corn and an assortment of desserts. Everyone had seconds – and some even had thirds!
After lunch, our teens enjoyed a relaxed day playing cards, board games, and, of course, watching some football. Hill Feinberg, Chairman of the Phoenix Houses of Texas Board of Directors, came by the Academy after lunch to spend time with our young clients.
Warmest thanks to the students at the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Dallas, who so generously offered their talents and time to give us a memorable Thanksgiving at the Feinberg Academy! Phoenix House would also like to give a special thank-you to the members of our Associates Group who very graciously spent part of their holiday helping out and getting to know our clients. Their service is very meaningful and much appreciated. Finally, we are grateful to Hill for taking such a personal interest in the clients.
