Saturday, June 26, was an incredible day for all of us at Phoenix House. At this year’s annual summer party in the Hamptons, we were thrilled to honor our friends Tony DiSanto, MTV’s President of Programming, and Lauran & Charlie Walk, CEO and Founder of CWE Media and Chairman of RJW Collective.

More than 600 people turned out for the event held at the beautiful beachfront home of Margie and Michael Loeb. DJ Cassidy kept the dance floor packed at the start of the event, which, by the end of the night, raised over $300,000 to support our programs in the Hamptons community.

After remarks from honorary chairperson Heide Banks, event chairpersons Nick Cannon and Randy Jackson, and our founder Mitch Rosenthal, M.D., Tony DiSanto and Charlie Walk accepted their awards and spoke about the importance of helping those struggling with substance abuse.

“It’s never too late to change, no matter what has happened in the past. You can always change what is coming in the future, and this is what is so important about Phoenix House. They are the catalyst for that change, and it’s an amazing organization to support,” said Tony DiSanto.

We also heard from Andrew, a young graduate of our Phoenix House Academy of Long Island, who spoke about his own battle with addiction and the life lessons he learned in treatment.

“I’m not saying treatment is easy. It’s not…but it’s necessary for kids like me. It’s like learning how to live all over again and learning how to cope when things are tough and how to keep structure in your life,” Andrew said.

Later in the evening, Donna D’Cruz took over the turntables to spin for guests who filled the crowded dance floor to cap off the wonderful evening.

We express our deepest gratitude to all those who came to support Phoenix House at this year’s event.
