Phoenix Rising Music Program presents Sean

Sean, a client from the men’s program at Phoenix House Long Island City Center, shows off his musical prowess for the Phoenix Rising Music Program in this video clip. This instrumental piece is an original classical guitar composition from Sean; notice his unique fretwork and finger-picking technique as he performs. We are proud to give our clients access to this unique program and the outlet to allow their natural talents shine through.

The Phoenix Rising Music Program is an expressive arts therapy program that encourages our clients to express themselves through music.  Participation in the creative arts has been proven to increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety and depression, and aid the recovery process for those struggling with substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health problems.

Phoenix House Long Island City Center’s treatment programs help men and women recognize the underlying causes of addiction and chart a course to a healthy, sober lifestyle. Our gender-specific programs provide services and treatment with individual and group counseling as well as the evidence-based therapeutic interventions that address specific client needs. We provide comprehensive treatment within a safe, structured, and supportive living environment.
