It was a bittersweet occasion at Phoenix House Florida as staff and clients said farewell to Patricia Mowery, director of the women’s program at Phoenix House Citra Center. In her ten years at Phoenix House, Pat has turned many lives around. She was instrumental in establishing Citra Center’s gender-specific treatment for women, which has grown dramatically in its four years. “I am thankful to have had complete support for creating the women’s program,” she said recently.
Throughout her 30-year career in the rehabilitation field, Pat has been deeply committed to helping underserved groups, such as women and the growing prison population. This concern is demonstrated every day through the compassion and respect she shows to all her clients.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to Phoenix House, Pat was honored with a farewell dinner on Wednesday, January 29. During the tribute, Lorraine Franciose, Citra Center’s campus director, said “Pat’s passion for helping people overcome addiction is an inspiration to everyone who works with her. We all wish her many happy years of well-earned leisure. Goodbye, Pat, and thank you!”
