Clients of Phoenix House Career Academy enjoy music programClients of Phoenix House Career Academy enthusiastically step up to perform as the Phoenix Rising Music Program visits our substance abuse treatment facility for mobile recording sessions that capture their musical talents. In this music video, Eric and David perform a modern gospel song of praise as Eric sings of giving thanks as his life has transformed in recovery.

Across our New York City treatment programs,  numerous clients take advantage of the opportunity to work together composing and performing original compositions about their life experiences and lessons learned during treatment and recovery. Since last year, we have chronicled many contributing to the program as they express themselves from their hearts and souls. Interest in the program enhances their recovery experience; the power of music builds creativity, confidence, and teamwork.

The Phoenix Rising Music Program is an arts therapy program that encourages our clients to express themselves through music.  Participation in the creative arts has been proven to increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety and depression, and aid the recovery process for young people who struggle with substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health problems.
