On May 10th, Phoenix Houses of Texas will be holding our annual Triumph for Teens fundraising luncheon, and we hope you’ll join us!
Phoenix House will be honoring Judge John C. Creuzot—founder of Dallas County’s first drug court and DIVERT (Dallas Initiative for Expedited Rehabilitation and Treatment), a federally-funded program created to help high-risk felony probationers break the cycle of addiction, crime, and incarceration. Phoenix Houses of Texas recently renamed our Dallas County judicial treatment center the Judge John C. Creuzot Judicial Treatment Center to honor the visionary leadership he has shown in the field of criminal justice.
Our featured speaker at the Triumph for Teens Luncheon will be Julie K. Hersh, author of Struck by Living, From Depression to Hope. Julie, a former Silicon Valley businesswoman who struggled with depression, shares her inspiring story of mental illness and recovery in her book in order to promote the importance of mental health. She was recently awarded the Mental Health America Ruth Altshuler Community Advocate Prism Award, and her blog, Struck by Living, is featured on Psychology Today’s website. She is a guest blogger for the Menninger Clinic and one of Northwood University’s Distinguished Women of 2010.
We really hope to see you at our annual Triumph for Teens Luncheon on Friday, May 10th at Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas, and we are grateful for your attendance. Donations made at this event will benefit Phoenix Houses of Texas’s programs and services so that we at Phoenix House can better serve the needs of our community. The luncheon will be held from 11:45am to 1:00pm, with the program starting promptly at noon.
