Phoenix Houses of New York hosts a screening of "The Welcome"Phoenix Houses of New York‘s Military Services Program recently honored America’s veterans with a special screening of  The Welcome, an award-winning documentary chronicling the experiences of veterans coming together at a unique retreat. These brave men and women, with past service in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq, learned how to share their stories with one another and with an audience, as chronicled in the film. We were honored to host this event for those who have served our country so bravely.

The Tribeca Cinema in downtown Manhattan was filled with vets, friends, Phoenix House staff, clients from our Military Services Program and many local NYC government dignitaries. Everyone was moved by this breakthrough film, filled with such powerful and emotional stories.  A discussion was held after the screening with the film’s producer, Bill McMillan, and leading PTSD expert, Dr. Karen Binder-Brynes.

All of us at Phoenix House salute our troops current and past; we proudly provide a broad range of substance  abuse treatment, mental health, and support services to active duty personnel, veterans, and their families. We are committed to spreading awareness and support for all veterans nationwide.
