Phoenix Houses of New York staff and clients from our Brentwood and Springfield Gardens Community Residences attended the Long Island/Queens NAMI Walk at Eisenhower Park on Saturday, May 11. Phoenix House is proud to join and support the walk each year to raise awareness and help overcome the challenges of mental illness. Even in the rain, our clients were eager to participate to help stamp out the stigma; participating in healthy exercise at the park, enjoying peer camaraderie, friends and family.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health problems. For more on NAMI, click here.
