Phoenix House NY staff & clients march at the 2012 Veterans Day Parade in ManhattanPhoenix Houses of New York staff and clients from Phoenix House Brentwood Campus’ Military Services Program, the Men’s programs of Phoenix House Brentwood Campus, Phoenix House Lake Ronkonkoma Campus, Phoenix House Hauppauge Center, Phoenix House Career Academy, and Phoenix House AmeriCorps celebrated Veterans Day by joining the procession at the 93nd Annual New York City Veterans Day Parade in Manhattan. Our group marched the parade route of 1.4 miles up Fifth Avenue, from 26th to 56th Street, with thousands of heroes from past wars in military dress. Veterans Day marks a day for U.S. military service members to unite, remember the sacrifices they’ve made, and for the public to honor their duty, from past to present. We are truly honored to participate once again at this important annual event.
