Clients from the Phoenix House Residential Program in Delaware County transformed into puppets and joined the fun at the Susquehanna Balloon Glow Festival at Neahwa Park in Oneonta on Labor Day weekend.
Our clients stepped into the giant, colorful puppets to entertain children and their families all around the park. The celebration, in its sixth year, featured free concerts by local bands, giant puppets, food concessions, family activities, balloon rides, balloons lit for display at night, and numerous hot air balloons with pilots. We extend our warmest thanks to Carol Mandigo, co-chair of First Night Oneonta and LEAF Council on Alcoholism and Addictions, for her hospitality and congratulate her on a very successful event. By coordinating these events with her staff, Mandigo has created a safe, sober environment for everyone in our community. Our clients have also enjoyed manning the puppets at the city’s New Year’s celebration, First Night Oneonta, in years past and we look forward to more family-friendly outings.
