Phoenix House of Texas Appoints New Regional Clinical Director

Steve ThomasonPhoenix House of Texas is proud to appoint Steve Thomason as the new Regional Clinical Director where he oversees program operations across the Texas region.  Steve previoiusly worked as the Program Director at Phoenix House Academy of Austin.

Steve obtained his Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at San Antonio and his Bachelors in Psychology from Texas State University.  Steve is a strong advocate for 12 Step Recovery and believes that addiction does not occur in a vacuum, but rather in the context of a contributing system.

As Clinical Director of Starlite Recovery Center, he was responsible for the development and implementation of Adult, Adolescent, and Family clinical programming. At the foundation of his philosophy is the desire to emphasize the importance of including the family in the recovery process and developing a strong continuum of care for each client and family system.

Steve’s goals for Phoenix House Austin include the development and implementation of a 12 Step Model to coincide with existing CBT and Solution Focused Programming.  He is also enhancing the Family Program to include Chemical Dependency Education, Family Roles, Boundary Setting, and Enabling.
