Staff and clients of Phoenix House New York’s Military Services Program joined the festivities at the 69th Annual Memorial Day Parade in Forest Hills, New York on May 24. A tradition since 1946, the parade draws hundreds of spectators showing their patriotism in tribute to the generations of servicemen and women representing all branches of the military. We were very honored to march with these brave men and women on this day of remembrance. Our special programs at Phoenix House Brentwood Campus and the Phoenix House Jack Aron Center in Manhattan provide a range of substance abuse treatment and support services for active duty personnel, veterans, and their families. Veterans from years past, local leaders, and civic groups marched along the parade route on Metropolitan Avenue. We salute all veterans and are very proud of the military community we serve.
