Phoenix House New York’s annual Women’s History Month celebration for clients and staff was held at our Phoenix House Career Academy in Brooklyn. This year’s theme was “Loving Me,” and the event filled a room with over one hundred female clients and staff from Phoenix House Brentwood Campus, Phoenix House Long Island City Center, Phoenix House Jack Aron Center, Phoenix House Lake Ronkonkoma Campus, Phoenix House Springfield Gardens Mental Health Community Residence, and Phoenix House Academy of Westchester. It was an uplifting day of creativity, inspiration, and celebration.
Guest speakers inspired our attendees, and clients representing each treatment facility provided original essays, poetry, and entertainment. Many women also acknowledged the directors, counselors, and clinicians making a difference in their lives during recovery. This day was special for these women in treatment as they made new friends, shared experiences, and rejoiced in their womanhood. Congratulations to everyone sharing their creativity, energy, and positive commitment to recovery.
