Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic Holds 16th Recovery Celebration

Friday, September 27th, 2013

CakeOn September 19, clients, alumni, family, friends and Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic staff gathered at the Knights of Columbus in Arlington, VA to celebrate the admirable achievements of those who have successfully overcome addiction. Joy and heartfelt emotions were evident throughout the evening.

The guest speaker was Larry Green, who shared with the audience his personal story of recovery from drugs and alcohol.

Clients of each of Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic programs then entertained the audience with performances such as skits, songs, and poems.

“Thank you very much for all of your hard work in making the Celebration of Recovery such a great success,” said George Knoerlein, director of clinical operations at Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic. “The clients did a great job and told me how much they enjoyed themselves. I am proud to be a part of a team that is so dedicated to our clients.”

A huge and sincere thank you to our food donors, Anita Vaught, Joe’s Place Pizza & Pasta, and Harris Teeter – and to our amazing volunteer staff for making our event possible and so successful.
