The Seventh Annual Talent Show, held on November 20 at Phoenix House Adult Residential Services in Citra, Florida, was a showcase for some wide-ranging talent. Of the 25 participants that day, some sang, others played a variety of instruments, read their own poetry and prose writings, and exhibited paintings and other artworks they had created.
Counselors Calvin Dandy, Eric Hoffman, and Karen Simmons served as judges of the event. First, Second, and Third Place prizes were awarded, but no client left without a medal commemorating his contributions to the show.
Many families were in attendance that day, and some tears of joy were shed as they witnessed the transformation in their loved ones’ lives. The event showed the enormous healing power of music and other forms of creativity, as well as the tremendous capacity for change and positive growth inherent in every person.
