Herman Lozada, Managing Director of Phoenix House Career Academy receives proclamation from Councilman Stephen Levin

Phoenix House Career Academy Managing Director Herman Lozada is the recipient of a special Proclamation from NYC District 33 Brooklyn Council Member Stephen Levin and the Vinegar Hill Neighborhood Association for his dedication to the communities he works and lives in as a substance abuse crusader.

Herman’s leadership role as mentor of the Young Men’s Committee at the Phoenix House Career Academy, and his dedication promoting prevention and substance-free lifestyles for youths were cited, in addition to his devotion to bring awareness to the dangers of substance abuse to all members of the community. Herman has spoke frequently about the threat of drugs in the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, most prominently during the recent Spice/K2 epidemic, and was interviewed by NY-1 News and the Queens Chronicle.

Under Herman’s leadership, clients of the Phoenix House Career Academy have volunteered at  numerous community outreach projects in the DUMBO/Vinegar Hill area to beautify the streets and give back to the neighborhood. Warmest congratulations, Herman!
