Saturday, July 7th, 2012

Councilman Styephen Levin visits the Phoenix House Career Academy in Brooklyn, NY.

Phoenix House Career Academy staff and clients were very proud to extend a warm welcome to Councilman Stephen Levin, for a tour of our facility and its vocational programs. Tour highlights included the Beyoncé Cosmetology Center, Building Maintenance and Mechanical, Carpentry, and Culinary programs housed at the Academy. We are very proud of our programs and grateful for the Councilman’s time and enthusiasm.

Councilman Levin represents Brooklyn’s 33rd District: Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Park Slope, Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, and Vinegar Hill neighborhoods. Our Academy clients, led by Phoenix House Career Academy Managing Director, Herman Lozada, are active in many local outreach and beautification projects in our area, partnering with the DUMBO Neighborhood Alliance, Vinegar Hill Neighborhood Association and Brooklyn Community Board 2. We appreciate our neighbors and are encouraged by the support they give us!

We are committed to giving our clients the strength and renewed self-esteem to live successful, drug-free lives as well as the job skills and education to thrive in the workplace.
