Kara DioGuardi visits with teen clients at the Phoenix House Academy of Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, October 11, Phoenix House will benefit from a special performance of Broadway’s Tony Award-winning hit musical CHICAGO, starring leading-lady Kara DioGuardi.  Presented by, the show will donate a percentage of its profits to four of Kara’s favorite charities, including Phoenix House, Columbus Citizens Foundation, Malaria No More, and Sister Domingas and Friends Foundation.

Kara DioGuardi is the creator of our pioneering Phoenix Rising Music Program, which teaches students how to compose, perform, and record their own original music in state-of-the-art recording studios.  She spearheaded the construction of the professional recording studio at our Phoenix House Academy of Westchester, and has since built studios in three other Phoenix House Academies, including the Academy of Austin, the Academy of Los Angeles, and the Academy of Citra, which will hold its grand opening this fall.  These studios give teens a new sense of confidence, pride, and achievement, as well as a place to express their creativity and emotions, as they focus on achieving healthy, drug-free lives.
