The troupe is preparing a set of original short plays and performance pieces, entitled “The Life Project.” With two weeks until showtime, they will perform their works for clients and staff at Phoenix House Career Academy, Phoenix House Long Island City Center, and at the Stella Adler Studio in Manhattan.

The ensemble cast is the largest since the partnership began several years ago. It features current and former Phoenix House clients, actors from the Adler Conservatory program, and their alumni and faculty. Our clients have dedicated themselves over the weeks to composing skits, developing characters, stretching their acting skills, and strengthening their communication skills. Our clients and staff await their live performances with excitement; we are truly grateful for this enduring partnership.

Phoenix House New York provides a range of programs, including: prevention and intervention; short and long-term residential and outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents; detoxification programs, programs for mothers and their children; programs that serve clients with mental health problems; and support services for substance abusers in recovery.
