Phoenix House AmeriCorps & Career Academy Clients assist the Yorkville Food PantryPhoenix House AmeriCorps volunteers and clients of the Phoenix House Career Academy rolled up their sleeves and grabbed aprons to lend a big hand at the Yorkville Common Pantry in upper Manhattan. Our crew led the preparation and packaging of fresh fruits, vegetables and groceries for distribution to families in need before the daily pick-up. Our volunteers also prepared food for the dinner to be served in the evening. Giving back to the community is an inspiring and therapeutic step for our clients currently in treatment.

The Yorkville Common Pantry (YCP) is dedicated to promoting dignity and self-sufficiency through their food pantry and meal distribution programs, focusing on East Harlem and other underserved communities throughout New York City. The Pantry Program at YCP is New York City’s largest community-based food pantry, distributing grocery packages to 1600+ families.

We are truly proud to help our friends serving the community.
