Friday, May 25th, 2012

Adolescent Clients from Phoenix House Academy of Long Island and Westchester share their stories to promote recovery.

Clients from the adolescent programs at the Phoenix House Academy of Long Island, Phoenix House Academy of Westchester, and the Phoenix House Jack Aron Center’s IMPACT Program in Manhattan were special guest speakers at a recent Phoenix House Youth Services Committee meeting in New York City. The Youth Services Committee is comprised of volunteer members, parents, and Directors of the Phoenix House board. Their shared mission is to encourage and  help teens maintain a substance-free lifestyle, promote prevention, and spread awareness in the community and New York City schools. Our teens spoke frankly about their experiences and lifestyles prior to entering recovery, as well as their current progress and success. Phoenix House Founder Mitchell S. Rosenthal, MD also attended this evening’s event and spoke about addiction and recovery. An educational and inspirational session was enjoyed by all attendees.
