phoenix house military staff clients field trip

Phoenix House New York’s Military Services Program staff and clients traveled to historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to visit the many historic landmarks and the National Military Park. Our group of 56 veterans and staff visited the battleground, discovered the preservation of artifacts, and learned about the history and culture of the town, past and present. 151 years ago President Abraham Lincoln delivered the famous speech that brought the small town of Gettysburg to the forefront of our nation. Everybody enjoyed this day of sightseeing, reflection, and admiration for our forefathers in American History. The day was complete with a wonderful dinner in the evening. We are all grateful for the generosity of Phoenix House Foundation Board member Sandra Pershing for her gift underwriting this educational trip; it was a special day our clients and staff will always remember.
