Phoenix House Career Academy clients support each other in treatment as The Council

A special group of Phoenix House Career Academy clients have teamed up in-house to form The Council. Their purpose is to support each other during residential treatment with common goals, such as encouraging personal growth, teaching unity, and promoting healthy recovery. Together, they strive to become positive members of society and to set an example for others. During their time on The Council, these clients offer each other insights and share life experiences on the road to recovery. “Our purpose is to change,” says one client. “Earlier on, maybe some of us didn’t realize that, but with the help and support of the counselors, we put together our own group.”

More than just a support group, The Council members are always seeking to help others as they embark onward in their recovery. They study group topics and treatment program assignments, they come to terms with their addictions, and they also focus on additional prevention education studies. With the help their clinical treatment, plus sessions with our Phoenix House Career Academy counselors, sustained recovery is just around the corner for these men. We salute The Council for their initiative and commitment.
