The band

Phoenix House Florida celebrities are ready for their 15 minutes of fame.

Recently, the male residents at Phoenix House Residential Program in Citra put on an extraordinary and entertaining talent show. This event is held semi-annually, creating an atmosphere of fun and good-natured competition. With skits, live bands, solo singers, instrumentalists, dancers, and more, the show gave the audience a night to remember, full of laughter and terrific sober entertainment.

The men spent weeks in band practice, skit rehearsal, and several dress rehearsals—all leading up to a night of joy. As one man stated, “I drowned my talents with drugs and alcohol. I forgot what it felt like to use the gifts I was given, for not only the entertainment it brings to others, but for how it fuels the energy in my soul.”

Phoenix House Florida provides substance abuse rehabilitation for adolescents at the Derek Jeter Center in Tampa and at Phoenix House Outpatient Services in Brandon. Adults also receive outpatient counseling at the Tampa and Brandon facilities. The Phoenix House Residential Program in Citra provides residential rehabilitation for adults whose substance abuse is advanced or complicated by mental health issues, with separate, gender-specific services for women at the Nancy C. and Raymond E. Murray Women’s Treatment Center. Our newest program, offering Outpatient Services in collaboration with The Centre for Women in Hyde Park, helps adults and families build healthy, productive futures as they reclaim their lives from addiction.
