Phoenix House Lake Ronkonkoma Mother and Child Program clients are delighted to participate in weekly Mommy & Me sessions conducted by PlayHooray. PlayHooray brings innovative music and movement classes to young children and their parents across Long Island. Each week, our mothers in residential treatment and their youngsters join Patty, Laura, and Gail from PlayHooray for play times filled with music, movement, and fun! These classes promote playful connections between moms and children while supporting toddlers’ development of motor skills, coordination, language articulation, and patterning skills. Activities that create quality bonding time are essential between moms and their children, and create cherished, heartwarming memories. Our warmest thanks to PlayHooray for helping Phoenix House families on their road to recovery.
Phoenix House Lake Ronkonkoma Mother and Child Program provides a nurturing environment for women who enter substance abuse treatment while pregnant or caring for young children (up to two years old). While mothers engage in treatment activities, their children are cared for at our on-site Child Development Center, where they receive developmental evaluations and pediatric care. Treatment focuses on behavioral change, relapse prevention, developing parenting skills, reuniting families, and rebuilding family relationships.
