Phoenix House Academy of Westchester hosts “Drug Crisis In Our Backyard” Community Forum on Thursday, 2/7/13Phoenix House Academy of Westchester will host the upcoming “Drug Crisis In Our Backyard” Community Forum on Thursday, February 7th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Shrub Oak, NY.

Two Westchester County families – the Salomone family of Mahopac and the Christiansen family of Somers both lost sons last year to heroin overdoses; this is their third community action event to create awareness of the drug abuse and addiction epidemic gripping local communities and schools in the area. They are determined to rally other families in the community in hopes of avoiding other tragic drug related deaths in neighboring households.

Guest speakers appearing at the forum include Phoenix Houses of New York’s Medical Director Steven Margolies MD, Gary Mandell, Chairman of HEI Hotels & Resorts, Founder of Brian’s Wish Foundation, and Chris Mancini.
