During the holiday season, youth, families, and staff of Phoenix House Academy in San Diego and Teen Recovery Center in Carlsbad will have opportunities to celebrate the gifts of the year: hope, health, success, recovery, and friendship. Teens at the Phoenix House Academy of San Diego will have more attractive bedrooms, with new comforters donated by the Reseda Church of Christ and Acme Linen Co. Inc. A holiday celebration with buffet dinner will be served to all residents and their families on Sunday 12/25/11 at 12noon at Phoenix Academy of San Diego in Descanso.
San Diego Alcohol and Drug Services and contracted providers will be having a holiday celebration at the Health and Human Services behavioral health offices on Wednesday 12/15/11 at 12noon. Phoenix House programs of San Diego will also hold a staff holiday celebration on Wednesday 12/21/11 at 12noon at Phoenix Academy of San Diego.
Phoenix House Academy of San Diego, located in beautiful Descanso, CA, offers services to for teens (12-17) with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health problems. Our intensive, evidence-based treatment program benefits from the generosity of local community, including a partnership with a non-profit called Horses Heal Hearts that offers equestrian therapy. The Academy is funded in part by the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Department, Alcohol and Drug Services. In addition, it recently received a grant from the County of San Diego’s Board of Supervisors.
Teen Recovery Center in Carlsbad provides early intervention for vulnerable teens, 12 -17 years old, and their families who require assessment and treatment for substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions. We are grateful for the support of Tri-City Medical Center, the City of Carlsbad and the City of Encinitas as well as the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Department, Alcohol and Drug Services.
