Hauppauge Men's Program clients climb mountainClients of Phoenix House Hauppauge Center Men’s Program visited Mohonk Preserve in New Paltz, New York for an amazing, adventurous day of hiking and mountain climbing. The Preserve spans over 8,000 acres of mountain ridges, forests, fields, streams, and ponds in a peaceful, scenic setting. This outing provided our clients with a day of sober recreation and a positive outlet for energy, teamwork, and improved mental health. Fitness and strength help build self-esteem and confidence – powerful tools in decreasing stress and promoting emotional and social well-being. Enjoying the great outdoors and admiring the wonders of nature are awesome ways to spend time with friends.
