Something about the onset of fall led staff in a few of our treatment centers to cast a spell of fun activities for our clients to enjoy. At our Academy in Los Angeles, our clients, their families, and our staff gathered together for a friendly Fall Festival. The event included a potluck and a variety of games, such as a bean bag toss, word search, and a mummy contest. Despite the vast amount of candy the staff donated for the event, it all seemed to disappear rather quickly. We suspect the mummies may have had something to do with it.
Elizabeth Stanley-Salazar, VP & Director of Clinical Services, said of the event, “I would like to recognize and thank all of the staff that participated in the success of this event, but I would like to especially thank Anna Hollaender for her leadership and vision. The involvement of families at whatever level they can commit is critical to support the changes an adolescent is expected to make on a recovery journey.”
Further south, at our Teen Recovery Center in Carlsbad, our clients had a very amusing time celebrating. Their Halloween extravaganza included holiday decorations, pumpkins, a potluck dinner, games, and a raffle for a well-stocked basket of delicious treats. But to top off the evening, there was not one, but two, Halloween costume contests. Our clients had a great time showing off their costumes and deciding who wore the best disguises.
With the help of Phoenix House’s effective treatment services, provided by highly-dedicated professional staff, our clients can enjoy their recovery as well as quality time with their families.
