Phoenix Houses of Texas is a close-knit community where our staff is personally invested in the success of our clients. So we’re sending our congratulations to the eight out of eight adult clients from the Phoenix House Judge John C. Creuzot Judicial Treatment Center who graduated last month with their GED diplomas. A celebratory ceremony was held at the facility and attended by all of the Creuzot Center staff and clients. To congratulate the GED graduates and commemorate their journey, Patricia, a Creuzot counselor, sang a touching version of “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.”
The Phoenix House Judge John C. Creuzot Judicial Treatment Center is an intensive residential program that provides an alternative to incarceration for Dallas County probationers who request treatment for substance abuse. We provide our clients with onsite job training, resume writing, interview techniques, GED preparation, and remedial education. It’s always a wonderful thing when our clients take advantage of our services and achieve success!
These eight GED graduates devoted six months of their time studying with Educational/Vocation Counselor Joyce Jones, who led general classes on the GED exam and offered private tutoring. Perhaps one of the most amazing things about these eight newly graduated clients is the amount of dedication they showed, not only in their studies, but also in raising the money to take their exams. We at Phoenix Houses of Texas are so proud of our clients and the fortitude they exhibited to achieve their goals and take a path towards a better future! Congratulations!
