Clients Join Santa Parade in Downtown Oneonta

Saturday, December 20th, 2014

santa parade oneontaClients of Phoenix House Residential Program in Delaware County transformed into puppets to join the fun at the Santa Parade presented by Main Street Oneonta. Our men suited up inside the crowd-pleasing giant puppets, springing them to life to dance with children and entertain parade participants along the entire route as Santa Claus arrived to ring in the holiday season. These puppeteers have also worked their magic at First Night Oneonta, the city’s annual New Year’s celebration, as well as the Susquehanna Balloon Glow Festival on Labor Day weekend.

Organizers estimated the crowd at over 3,000 people, the largest celebration in the town’s history. More than forty groups joined the procession from Chestnut Street to Oneonta City Hall, with wintry weather at a sunny 38 degrees. The holidays are truly upon us now with this beloved annual tradition. We are proud of our clients’ enthusiasm, their love of these local events, and how much they care about giving back to their community. Thanks and congratulations on a landmark event to all!
