The Phoenix House Career Academy Jay Street Spartans started a new season of basketball in the Therapeutic Communities Athletic (TCA) League. Our client athletes strive to bring their skills and fierce competitive nature to the league every season, led by Academy counselor Inglefield Reid.
In addition to their individual expertise and athletic prowess, our players are learning to maintain and maximize composure, focus on executing detailed plays, and boost leadership skills and chemistry with their peers. Team sports allow our clients to focus on sober recreational activities during their residential treatment and helps emphasize healthy recovery habits. With the help of their counselors, the members of the Spartans are also concentrating on their individual treatment and recovery plans during their residential stay at the Career Academy. Basketball and recovery go hand-in-hand: healthy recovery, focus, and confidence help us all to become winners on the court of life. Good luck team and bring the trophy back home!
