Phoenix House’s Bronx Community Recovery Center (BCRC) celebrated its one-year anniversary in October with an awards event at the Center. During the anniversary celebration, Assemblywoman Carmen E. Arroyo from the Bronx’s 84th District addressed BCRC guests and spoke eloquently about the need for more recovery resources in our communities. Appreciation awards were presented to several local community organizations that have been instrumental in furthering the BCRC’s mission.
The BCRC is committed to providing life-changing services to those recovering from alcohol and substance misuse. Services include: peer-led recovery support meetings, relapse prevention, Narcotics Anonymous, employment readiness programs, health and wellness activities, vocational and educational referrals, and housing assistance. One of the first centers of its kind in all of New York state, the BCRC is dedicated to serving the Bronx neighborhood known as “The HUB” in addition to adjacent areas. As we move forward into the future, the Center will continue to offer its excellent services to over 200 members on the road to recovery.
