Brentwood Campus “Do Something Good!” Winter Coat Drive Spreads the Warmth

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

Phoenix House "Do Something Good" Program Brentwood Campus Winter Coat collectionPhoenix House Brentwood Campus’ “Do Something Good!” Program is a monthly drive with a mission to assist people in need in our community, led by Phoenix House Director of Mobile Services, Beth Gabellini. Donations of items from Phoenix House employees, coordinated by Beth and her team, help us all give back to local non-profits in the area. In past months, an animal shelter and a local food pantry were recipients of donated goods. Their most recent, a Winter Coat Drive, was a big success, with plenty of coats collected for men, women, and children, and presented to St. Patrick’s Church Outreach & Soup Kitchen in Bay Shore, New York. We are proud to help – especially with the cold weather upon us, and their volunteers were very glad to receive this generous selection. Sharing the warmth with our community is a wonderful thing, in addition to serving our own clients in need of substance and drug abuse treatment and recovery services every day. We say great job, and way to go to all “do gooders!”
