In early June, the Phoenix House Hill A. Feinberg Academy in Dallas received a generous in-kind donation from Phoenix House Texas Board Member Kathy Crow and her son, Jack.
As part of a collaboration with his Eagle Scout troop, Jack and his mom designed a new garden area for clients, family, and staff. The area has a stylized landscape, offering a beautiful space for reflection, processing, or just enjoying nature.
“It turned out beautiful and is a wonderful addition to the facility for clients, families, and staff to enjoy,” said Maeve O’Neill, Director of Second Chance with Phoenix House Texas.
In another part of Texas, the Phoenix House Academy in Austin has been renovating its facilities for adolescent boys and girls. Over the last nine months, Phoenix House Texas invested $250,000 into tiling floors, renovating bathrooms, giving the walls a fresh coat of paint, and buying brand-new furniture. Steve Thomason, Regional Clinical Director of Phoenix House Texas, said the fresh look has given our youth a sense of pride in the facility.
We’re so grateful to Kathy and Jack for helping us beautify our Academy grounds and to all of the staff and community partners who helped improve the living quarters of our Austin clients.
