Symposium on Drug Addiction & Substance Abuse In Austin, TX

Phoenix Houses of Texas, together with Texas Star Recovery, is thrilled to be co-hosting the 4th Annual Addiction Symposium on Friday, September 16, 2011 in Austin, TX.  This year’s topic is “Walking the Tightrope of Chronic Pain Management.” The keynote speaker, Dr. Mel Pohl of the Las Vegas Recovery Center, will be joined by a talented cast of medical professionals including Dr. Bill Nemeth, Dr. Terry Rustin, Dr. Krista Jordan and APRN Reid Minot, all of who will be offering insightful presentations on chronic pain management.

The symposium begins at 8:00am and closes at 4:00pm. For anyone interested in continuing education information, the program has been approved for:

  • 6.5 hours of AMA PRA Catergory 1 Credits with 2 hours designated as ethics and/or responsibility credit
  • 6 hours of Continuing Education Credits for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers
  • Pending approval for Case Managers and Nurses
