li academy students bay street theaterStudents and staff of Phoenix House Academy on Long Island attended a performance of To Kill A Mockingbird, courtesy of Eastern Suffolk BOCES at Sag Harbor’s Bay Street Theater. Literature Live!, a unique theater program for students, presents plays chosen from classic literature with teacher-developed reference materials and lesson plans. A question and answer session is presented after the show. Our students were grateful for the break in clinical treatment activities for the opportunity to see the novel by Harper Lee come to life at this performance.

Phoenix House runs substance abuse treatment and prevention programs for adults and teens, including the Phoenix House Academy on Long Island located in Wainscott, which serves young males 18 and over who are struggling with drug and alcohol abuse. Our Academy model is designed to help clients prepare for productive, self-sufficient, substance-free lives. Clients complete treatment while taking part in the Academy’s fully accredited on-site academic program, allowing them to catch up on their studies or earn credit towards their high school diplomas.
