RWR Logo 6 FiguresPhoenix House New England will present the sixth annual Run! Walk! Ride!—For the Health of It! on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Phoenix House Exeter Center, 251 Main Street, Exeter, R.I., 02822. This celebration of life, health, and wellness offers participants the choice of a 3K (1.8 mile) walk, a 5K (3.1-mile) run, or a 20-mile bicycle ride through the blossoming spring in southeastern Rhode Island.  Proceeds from the event support the efforts of Phoenix House New England to help individuals overcome addiction.

If you’re feeling more inclined to enjoy indoor exercise (or if the weather is less than ideal), there will be demonstrations of yoga, aerobics, and other healthy activities in the gym, as well as face painting, balloon animals, and other fun for the younger set. Fit for Recovery!, a health and wellness fair, will present information on a wide variety of important topics, including smoking cessation, domestic abuse awareness, organic gardening, and many others. A barbecue lunch with live music by the Recovery All Stars will provide time to refuel and relax, while a silent auction and raffle gives everyone a chance at great prizes. All festivities are open to the public.

Generously underwritten by Nation Wide Construction, Ursillo, Teitz & Ritch, Ltd., FGX International, and other prominent area corporations, the registration fee is $25 per participant, $10 for seniors. Additional family members may participate at $10 per adult (18+) and $5 per adolescent (12+). Children under 12 are free. To register online, please click here.

Run! Walk! Ride! supports Phoenix House’s full range of programs in Rhode Island, from medical detoxification, to residential treatment for adult men and women, inpatient treatment with academic tutoring for adolescents, outpatient services at three locations statewide, and recovery housing for those in the early stages of sobriety.

If someone you love is struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, please call Phoenix House at 1 888 671 9392.  Someone is standing by to help.
