Phoenix House Academy of Los Angeles would like to invite you to our annual Global Youth Service Day Celebration on Saturday, April 21st, 2012, from 12:30 to 3:30pm.  Join our residents who are celebrating the strengths of their community by giving back!

Celebrated in over 100 countries and in all 50 states,  Global Youth Services Day is organized by Youth Service America (YSA), and is the largest service event in the world  – as well as the only event that celebrates the leadership of young people.  Come see the wonderful community service projects our youth have been working on, and enjoy music, entertainment, food & project presentations.

The event will start from viewing the students’ projects and will include a Keynote Speech by City of Los Angeles Councilman, Richard Alarcon, resposible for District 7. Mr. Alarcon has been a great friend and supporter of Phoenix House for many years. he will speak at 1:30 p.m., followed by the presentation of projects and awards.  Family members must be on the approved visitors list to attend.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Located on a spacious campus in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, near the San Gabriel Mountains, Phoenix House Academy of Los Angeles offers strength-based, gender-specific treatment for teens with substance abuse and mental health disorders.  Since opening its doors in 1994, the Academy has distinguished itself as one of the most successful programs for the integrated treatment of youths with co-occurring disorders in Los Angeles County.  Our program offers residential and outpatient options, fully-accredited on-site high school education, and intensive family and support services.
