Injection to Counteract Painkiller Overdose Approved by FDA

prescription pillsThe Food and Drug Administration recently approved Evzio, a product designed to revive patients from an overdose of prescription painkillers.  Evzio uses the drug naloxone, currently used by paramedics and medical workers in overdose emergency situations, and is easy to use by anyone trying to help save a life during a painkiller overdose.

Overdoses from painkillers have increased four-fold over the last 10 years and are now responsible for more than 16,000 deaths per year.
