Exeter McKenna Unit Detoxification Services
Exeter, Rhode Island
Bridge the gap between withdrawal and the next steps to healthy recovery.
Named in memory of Joseph B. McKenna, a long-time recovery advocate and friend of Phoenix House, the Exeter McKenna Unit Detoxification Services is a 20-bed program committed to offering stabilization services following withdrawal from alcohol, opiates, and other substances. Patients are admitted by registered nurses 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and each client is seen by a licensed physician. Located on a peaceful campus in rural Exeter, Rhode Island, the program is staffed at all times with a team of licensed professionals who work closely with each client to develop an appropriate treatment plan focusing on individual medical needs, withdrawal issues, and aftercare following discharge.
Our treatment philosophy is based on the understanding that addiction is a chronic disease. Individuals suffering from substance use disorders deserve evidence-based treatment in settings that offer privacy and dignity.
