Long Island City – Parkside
Long Island City, New York
With awareness comes understanding. We help men and women recognize the underlying causes of drug and alcohol addiction and chart a course to a healthy, sober lifestyle.
Our Long Island City Center’s Women’s Program provides innovative substance use disorder treatment services to female clients using evidenced-based practices. Our program offers an array of vital services and our staff is trained to meet the unique needs of women, including those who struggle with co-occurring mental health problems. Our research-tested programs deal with issues of parenting, trauma, emotional awareness, anger management, and relapse prevention. We also provide medical services, medication-assisted treatment, motivational interviewing, and vocational support, as well as recreational programming.
Our Men’s Program provides substance use disorder treatment involving individual and group counseling as well as the evidence-based therapeutic interventions that address specific client needs. The program allows clients to redefine who they are as human beings while addressing views on manhood/rites of passage. Counseling sessions allow our residents to articulate their feelings appropriately. The program provides comprehensive treatment within a safe, structured, and supportive living environment.
Our Outpatient Program—opening in February 2019—serves adults with substance use disorder that do not warrant residential treatment. In some cases, clients may join our program after successfully transitioning from a residential addiction treatment setting. The center offers a warm, compassionate environment that empowers clients in their recovery. Our services include assessment, individualized treatment planning, group counseling, DBT therapy, anger management, relapse prevention, sober recreational activities, and referrals to a network of community service organizations. Treatment is tailored to meet individual needs; hours are flexible and an intensive outpatient option is also available.
