Venice Beach Residential and Outpatient Services
At our Venice Beach setting, men find the tools to achieve lasting recovery and rebuild relationships.
Located on Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach, Phoenix House offers comprehensive residential treatment to adult men who are trying to break the cycle of drug and alcohol addiction. Group therapy, individual counseling, and a variety of services are offered to those who are striving to overcome addiction, reunite with family, and achieve economic independence. A wide range of group sessions are offered that address recovery dynamics, relapse prevention, life skills, trauma, and anger management. Fitness classes include yoga on the beach. In addition to residential care, outpatient services are available for men over 18 years of age. Referrals to NA/AA meetings, job training and placement, and other community services are also offered.
All major credit cards are accepted. Payment options include the following health insurance plans: Anthem Blue Cross, APS Healthcare, Kaiser Permanente, Managed Health Network (MHN), as well as Cigna and Health Net.
The facility is licensed and Drug Medi-Cal certified by the California Department of Health Care Services, and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Services are supported by the County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Health – Substance Abuse Prevention and Control, as well as other funders.

Our experienced staff is skilled at working with all types of insurance providers to help you access the treatment you need. Phoenix House is an in-network provider for most major insurance carriers, managed care programs, and Medicaid.
Do your programs accept insurance?
Yes, Phoenix House California accepts most insurance plans, including: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, LifeSynch-Humana, APS Healthcare, MHN, Cigna, HealthNet, and Value Options. We also accept United Behavioral Health and partners.

Family involvement is an integral component in the treatment process. Mental Health Services
Substance abuse and addiction often go hand-in-hand with mental health issues, and Phoenix House offers treatment programs designed specifically to meet this need.
Assessment and Evaluation Services
In various locations, Phoenix House provides independent assessments and evaluations of substance use disorders as requested by individuals, families, schools and the Criminal Justice System.
Residential Services for Adults
Phoenix House’s residential treatment services are wide-ranging and comprehensive, allowing us to tailor each client’s treatment solutions to meet individual needs.
Job preparation workshops, resume and interview assistance, and vocational rehabilitation services are offered through partnerships with the Department of Rehabilitation and Chrysalis.
Mental health professionals lead trauma-focused, evidence-based treatment groups for men suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Clients may participate in outdoor runs and hikes on the beach, yoga, strength training at Muscle Beach, cardiovascular exercises, swimming and much more.
Creative Writing Program
We offer poetry and short story writing classes, workshops, and presentations by writers and other guests.
